Outdoor education and adventure

We were thrilled to receive an open brief to explore the possibilities for an educational retreat designed to provide transformative experiences for groups of all ages, via outdoor learning and life-changing adventures.

We started with an exciting scoping exercise to identify the potential activities which would excite all types of users; from bouldering rocks, climbing walls, balance beams, laser rooms, zip wires, indoor caving to treetop raving. We then created a series of abstract objects which could facilitate the activities. Each form was designed to be part of a bigger system which could easily be dismantled and reconstructed at a later date.

Objects

The objects were then curated into both urban and rural settings, with seating, learning arenas and nature connecting the spaces between. The language is bold and playful and leans on the idea of curiosity and exploration. Bright colours act as identifiers to help determine zones and wayfinding.

We absolutely loved the creative brief that allowed us to play and get inventive and are looking forward to seeing how our ideas get deployed into existing and new sites. Watch this space.
