An idea in the minds of two architects. A name inspired by a love of electronic music. And a common ambition to revolutionise the way people use space.
Andrew and Nathan founded spacelab_ back in 2002 with the belief that space holds the power to positively transform people’s lives. It can bring people together, ignite ideas, spark joy, create conversations and define communities.
So they partnered with the Bartlett School of Architecture at the University College London (UCL) to pioneer a new evidence-based approach that was all about people, enabling us to deliver human-centred solutions that truly work, for the long term.
We’ve been innovating ever since, constantly challenging convention and questioning the norm. But our core purpose is still the same, that through great design we can improve people’s lives and help make the world a better place, one space at a time.
spacelab_ is part of the lab_, a collective of free-thinkers; architects, designers, developers, engineers, social scientists, educators and technologists; who all share the same purpose – to constantly experiment and reshape the boundaries so that we can live our lives better.
